Veto Pro Pac MPMX

I purchased the Veto Pro Pac MPMX with the hopes that it would hold my multimeter more securely than the rubber band workaround that I devised for my Occidental Leather Electrician’s pouch, as well as fit my other EDC tools. While it absolutely fit the bill for those requirements, I had three initial complaints.

My first complaint was that because the MPMX has space for a multimeter, it inherently makes the pouch protrude off the body significantly more than my OCL pouch.

My second complaint was that because the pouch hangs further off the body, the weight of my tools was exaggerated and made the pocket slider feel like it was going to pop out of my pocket, which could lead to the possibility of the pouch falling off.

My third complaint was that if only using the belt clip, as with most clip on pouches, the MPMX felt very wobbly and unstable.

I didn’t wear the MPMX for a couple weeks because of these issues, but I really loved the concept of this pouch and the fact that it could hold all of my essential tools, including my meter.

I also felt that the build quality was superb. Having D rings for tape was another very important feature for me, and a nice bonus was being able to remove the pouch and use the kick stand feature of the pocket slider.

I finally decided to give this pouch a go while on the job and discovered what now seems to be a very obvious solution to all of my problems…wear the MPMX on the belt AND use the pocket slider. By wearing it this way, the pouch is stabilized by the pocket slider, but all of the weight is bearing on your belt. Just make sure to use a somewhat rigid belt, otherwise if your belt flexes, the rig will feel unstable. To overcome this challenge, I purchased the Holstery ModBelt Everyday Tool Belt.

Update 6-20-2025: Two other observations that I have noticed after using this pouch for several months now…It may be because I broke my hip when I was a child and my alignment is off, but when wearing the pouch all day and fully loaded down on my right side, my left hip starts to get sore, perhaps because it is compensating for all the weight on my right.

I also noticed that any tools (like my small Linesman’s) that have any somewhat sharp or rough edges, rub the fabric edges at the top of where the tool slides into the pouch. This causes some fraying. Not a huge deal, but perhaps if leather was used instead of fabric, this issue could be avoided.

Overall I absolutely love this pouch. The efficiency it adds to my day by being able to have all the essentials right at my side is invaluable. I would recommend this pouch to anyone, but especially those who use a multimeter.
